The Annual Tsiolkovsky Readings and Conference

This annual scientific Conference on different problems of space research has taken place in Kaluga, Russia since1966. It is usually held in the middle of September (around the days of Tsiolkovsky's birth and death). The aim of the readings is to provide an overview of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky's scientific heritage, and to discuss further development of his ideas.

Announce the XXXIV Annual Tsiolkovsky Readings and Conference

(Devoted to 142nd anniversary of the birth of Tsiolkovsky)

The XXXII Tsiolkovsky Readings will be held on September 16-19, 1999 in Kaluga, Russia. The aim of the Readings is to provide an overview of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky`s scientific heritage and to discuss further development of his ideas. It will take place in the city where the prominent scientist lived and worked more than forty years.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

The following sections are anticipated at the Readings :

1. The study of Tsiolkovsky`s scientific heritage.
2. The problems of rocketry and space technology.
3. Space flight mechanics.
4. The problems of space medicine and biology.
5. Aviation and aeronautics.
6. Tsiolkovsky and philosophical problems of space exploration.
7. Tsiolkovsky and scientific forecasting.
8. Tsiolkovsky and the problems of space industry.
9. Tsiolkovsky and the problems of cosmonaut`s activity.
10. Tsiolkovsky and the problems of education.

Abstracts of presentations (not more than one page) must be delivered either to the Organizing Committee or the Museum address before March 1, 1998. The deadline for final manuscripts (not more than 7 pages) must be delivered by July 31. More information will be sent to you after your reply. The Organizing Committee Address is:
