High Altitude and Military Rocketry. (1946 - 1957).

This part of exposition is about the foundation of the rocket missiles industry in the world, which was the origin of cosmonautics. In the Soviet Union, the Rocket building Industry was founded by Government Bill on May 13, 1961. The first IMRBM (Inter Medium Range Ballistic Missiles) and ICBM (Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles) were later used as space rocket boosters. The first medical-biological experiments were also started at this time.

It was in this period that "The Body of the Chief Designers" was founded in the USSR (not as an official organization) which consisted of :

- Sergey P. Korolev (1907-1966) - The Chief Designer of the Rocket systems.

- Mstislav V. Keldysh (1911-1978) - The main theoretician of Soviet cosmonautics.

- Valentin P. Glushko (1908-1989) - The Chief Designer of liquid rocket engines.

- Nikolay A. Pilugin (1908-1982) - The Chief Designer of autonomous guidance rocket systems.

- Mihail S. Ryasansky (1909-1987) - The Chief Designer of radio navigation guidance rocket systems.

- Vladimir P. Barmin (1909-1993) - The Chief Designer of ground equipment rocket systems.

- Viktor I. Kusnetsov (1913-1991) - The Chief Designer of gyroscopic guidance-command rocket systems.

The first missiles were designed at that time in the Soviet Union, including the R-1 (SS-1A,"Scunner"), R-7 (SS-6,"Sapwood"), R-12 (SS-4,"Sandal"), and others. (See also the "Open Air Exposition" section).
