Space Rocket Boosters and Engines.

This exhibit will provide the visitor information about rocket boosters and engines, including their design and use. There are scale models of all types of Soviet and Russian rocket boosters, and a large collection of rocket engines. Several of the engines and boosters are real.

- "Vostok" Booster. A real three stage booster. In the
The Open Air Exposition . The piloted variant was in use since May,1960. It is a later modification of the R-7 ICBM. It was used for piloted ("Vostok") and unpiloted ("Electron", "Meteor", "Kosmos" and some others) Soviet space missions. Length - 38 m., Mass on the ground - 287 t. Mass in orbit - 4,7 t. The first stage - with 4 RD-107 engines. It was designed by Korolev's design bureau.

- "RD-107". The real propellant engine with four chambers and two guidance chambers. It was used in some military missiles and on the first stage of the R-7 and all it modifications. Power in space - 1 MN (102 t/s). The propelant components - liquid oxygen and kerosene. It was designed in 1954-1957 by GDL-OKB of Valentin P. Glushko.

- "RD-0109". The real propellant engine with one chamber and four guidance chambers. It was used on the third stage of R-7 ("Vostok" modification). Power in space - 54,5 kN (5,5 t/s). The propelant components - liquid oxygen and kerosene. Time of work - 430 s. Mass - 121 kg. It was designed in "Khimavtomatika" (Voroneshj). The Chief Designer - Semen A. Kosberg.

- "11D122". The real propellant engine with one chamber. It was used on the second stage of "Energiya" heavy booster. Power in space - 1976 kN. The propellant components - liquid oxygen and hydrogen. Time of work - 500 sec. Mass- 3,450 kg. It was designed in "Khimavtomatika" (Voroneshj). The Chief Designer - Aleksandr D. Konopatov.
