This project was initiated over ten years ago to provide state-of-the-art spatial information to researchers studying the Mountain Gorilla population in the Virungas.

Our  very small initial program has grown, and there are now a large number of researchers from different institutions involved and making significant contributions. More new activities are beginning.

We all hope that our efforts will be rewarded and that these magnificent creatures will be allowed to continue to inhabit this majestic and beautiful land.
