Lab 5

Global Positioning Systems (GPS)

In 02 Hanes

Introduction:

This lab is a very cursory introduction to the world of remote sensing and GPS. GPS is an important tool for archaeological goematics. This will be in two parts. The first part will be a lecture about the origins, current status, applications, and future directions of the technology. The second part will be looking at GPS receivers in use.

Lab Part 1

This .ppt presentation is located in the course space at:

  Lab Part 2

We will wander around and look at several GPS receivers in operation.

   Lab Part 3

Please review several GPS websites to get a sense of what is out there, what your options are, and how these tools can be used: Click here for some excellent GNSS WWWeb pages.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. See you next week.
